Across Asia, from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur, horticulturalists donning white laboratory suits are inspecting glass flasks filled with thousands of tiny baby plantlets. The exuberant spray of lush green emanating into the otherwise clinical rooms, is created by the vibrant chlorophyll of healthy leaves. These plantlets are being grown in a rich agar-jelly, which has been infused with nutrients and vitamins, to give them a head-start for a strong flora joie de vivre.
This farming method is known as 'Tissue Culture' and most of our plantlets are born this way. It is a much more costly growing method, but yields the healthiest baby plants, free from pathogens and disease. The plantlets are hand-transplanted into Pafcal Bricks, and nourished with a premium liquid fertilizer to further build up their nutrient-reserves.
Nutrient fertilizers can be added in very small doses, every 2-3 months, if desired.
If you are looking for some plants to clean the indoor air of common toxins, these proven varieties top the list:
1) Chlorophytum Comosum 2) Parlor Palm 2) Syngonium Green 3) Syngonium Golden Allusion 4) Syngonium Strawberry 5) Golden Pothos (Green)
6) Golden Pothos (Lime Green)
*It is normal for the occasional leaf to turn yellow. Simply prune part or all of the leaf off when this happens. When you snip off the whole leaf, new ones will grow out. For Parlor Palm, prune only the affected part of the leaves.
